Car Seat Safety Checks Online Registration

More than 2,600 children under 13 are involved in a car crash daily. That’s one child every 33 seconds. While most families put kids in car seats, the latest research from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows 59 percent of car seats are not installed correctly. Installing a car seaty for younger children and babies can be a challenge that we can help you with!

Learning for Life parent educators are fully trained as car seat safety technicians and are offering car seat safety checks to the public on June 25, 2022 from 9-11AM at the Hy-Vee parking lot.

Each car seat installation will take 30 minutes. Please sign up for each car seat/child you are bringing to the event.

Before the car seat checkup

• Be prepared to learn. Car seat safety technicians are trained to teach you how to install your seat.
• Know your child's weight and height.
• Be sure to bring your child and their car seat with you as well as another caregiver to help while you are learning.
